Winter Recess Student Programming

Winter Recess provides Clubs & Shared Interest Groups an opportunity to engage with undergraduate students who might be in the local area for the break. The HAA supports student-inclusive programming during Winter Recess through email promotion to current students.  Programming taking place between January 6 and January 17, 2020 is eligible for promotion. Programs focused on career pathways are particularly in demand, and all Global Networking Night events are publicized to students.

Both single day and multi-part programming is welcome; organizations that have not previously hosted Winter Recess programming are encouraged to start simple. Successful Winter Recess student programs include:

  • The Harvard Club of Seattle Mentorship Program, which connects students with local alumni working in healthcare, nonprofits, startups, and technology through small group discussions.
  • The Harvard Club of Southern California Finance Trek, which provides students the opportunity to observe,  ask questions, receive hands-on experience,  and build relationships with local employers.

Clubs & SIGs are responsible for managing registration and executing this programming independently, and we ask that you survey participants after your event in order to inform future efforts. Survey results will be shared with the HAA so that highlights may be shared with the College and general findings/best practices can be made availabile to participating Clubs & SIGs in future years.

Register to participate in student promotion by providing program information by November 29, 2019. The following information must be confirmed and submitted by the deadline:

  • Date
  • Time
  • Program Description
  • Program Contact
  • Live event page and registration form on the Club or SIG website.
  • Post-event survey link
