SIG Meetups

Connect with fellow alumni and recruit new members! Shared Interest Group (SIG) Meetups are SIG-hosted, on-campus events that take place annually on Harvard Alumni Day. These low-lift convenings are an opportunity for SIGs to promote their organization while engaging with alumni celebrating Harvard Alumni Day and College Reunions.

Event Details

📅 Date: June 6, 2025 from 3:00-5:00p.m. ET    

SIG Meetups will now be held on Friday afternoon, aligning with Harvard Alumni Day and College Reunions. The move from the traditional Saturday date to Friday offers a fantastic opportunity for SIGs to connect with a larger audience as alumni and reunion attendees gather on campus for the various festivities.

SIG Meetup Registration

All SIGs interested in hosting a SIG Meetup must submit their registration form by April 16, 2025.

How to Participate

1) Sign up to host: Registration is now open! Register your SIG by April 16. A volunteer leader must commit to being present at the event on the afternoon of Friday, June 6, 2025 from 3:00-5:00pm ET. The HAA offers classroom space upon request. When filling out your registration form, please specify if you need space or have already arranged your own.

2) Market your event: SIGs are responsible for marketing their Meetup to their alumni community.

3) HAA promotion: In addition to your own marketing efforts, the HAA will promote your event on the Harvard Alumni Day website, social media channels, and through targeted emails to the broader alumni network.

4) Host the Meetup: SIG Meetup volunteers show up to their meetup location in advance of the 3:00pm ET start time on Friday, June 6. SIG Meetups can range from informal gatherings to sharing information on the SIG, upcoming events and how alumni can get involved as volunteers and members. This is a good opportunity for new members to sign up and join the SIG's communicaiton list.

Marketing and Promotion

In addition to your own marketing efforts, the HAA will actively promote all SIG Meetups to maximize visibility and engagement. Here's how we’re supporting your outreach efforts:

• HAD Website: All SIG Meetups will be featured on the Harvard Alumni Day website.

• Social Media Marketing: SIG Meetups will be highlighted to all alumni and reunioning alumni across HAA’s social media channels.

• Targeted Emails: Alumni will receive direct communications about the SIG Meetups, encouraging them to explore and participate in your events.

Space Guidelines

SIGs may choose to host the event on-campus or at a venue in close proximity to Harvard Yard. The Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) provides classroom space upon request. When filling out your registration form, please specify if you need space or have already arranged your own. Please note:

• HAA-provided space does not have A/V capabilities and does not allow food and beverage.

• SIGs using HAA-provided space will not receive the space location until early May.
