Greetings!
It was wonderful to see so many alumni return to campus last month in celebration of Reunions, SIG Meetups and Alumni Day! In addition to all the lively campus celebrations, Clubs and SIGs have been brimming with activity. Be sure to look at this month’s extended Clubs and SIGs Spotlight for photos and highlights from your fellow volunteers.

As the academic year comes to a close, many Clubs and SIGs are winding down for a well-deserved break. We encourage you to explore Officers Lounge, your one-stop-shop for all things needed to run your Club or SIG. A few highlights include operational best practices key to running an organization, HAA-enabled programs, and digital tools to enhance your online presence and communications. Please take time to share this important resource with your Board members and volunteers.

Recognizing Excellence: Nominate Clubs & SIGs

The deadline for the HAA Club and SIG Awards nominations has been extended to Sunday, June 16. Awards will be presented at the 2024 Alumni Leadership Conference. Nominate an outstanding alumni community or an outstanding leader today!

Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders

The Summer Community Service Fellowship (SCSF) program has seen an exciting increase in funding this year with 13 Clubs and SIGs awarding $115,000 to 22 very deserving students. We thank our Clubs and SIGs for their support of these fellows as they explore an interest in public service.

Bringing the Classroom to the Community

This year’s Speakers Bureau has come to a close with 21 Harvard faculty participating in 37 in-person and virtual events with 103 alumni communities around the globe. The 2024–2025 Speakers Bureau catalog and request process will open in late-August.

Harvard’s Voice

Harvard’s newly formed Institutional Voice Working Group was established to consider if and when the University should issue official statements on publicly salient issues.

Following extensive outreach to more than 1,000 Harvard alumni, faculty, students, and staff, the Working Group released a set of principles and recommendations around institutional voice in the University’s mission of “seeking truth through open inquiry, debate, and weighing . . . evidence.”

Twenty-four SIG Meetups convened alumni around topics of interest and areas of shared identity at this year’s College Reunions!

In the spirit of collaboration and connection, the Harvard University Choir Alumni, Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum Foundation, Harvard Glee Club Alumni, and the Radcliffe Choral Society Foundation performed on-campus at Alumni Day.

Fifteen Clubs and SIGs, including the Harvard Club of Egypt, gathered locally to celebrate Harvard’s vibrant global community around Alumni Day.

BBB Asia-Pacific Harvard Alumni Summit attendees

The Big Opportunities, Bold Moves, and Brave Individuals Asia-Pacific Harvard Alumni Summit was held in April and organized by the Harvard Club of Sri Lanka with the support of the Harvard Clubs in the region.
